Guru Sishyan is releasing on
May 7, 2010

It is now certain that the clash between two Sundar C films Vaada and Guru Sishyan, has been averted at the last minute.

Both the films had threatened to release on the same day April 16.

Due to the efforts of Sundar C and other people producer and director Sakthi Chidambaram has now agreed to postpone his Sundar C- Sathyaraj Guru Sishyan from April 16 to May 7.

It gives the long in the making Vaada directed by A Venkatesh a mass masala entertainer with Sheryll Brindo in the female lead a decent three weeks gap.

The film produced by Mohan Radha of Screenplay Entertainment, the film has Vivek doing a tribute to yesteryear comedian Suruli Rajan. Khushboo would be doing a special song appearance with her husband.

Vaada is targeted at B and C audiences, and distributors are hoping it does well. The director of the film A Venkatesh is confident about the films success as he feels after seeing the first copy that he has got his mix right.: more movies...

Sunder C's double treat

Sundar C takes the cake when it comes to acting in the most number of films among actors who took to acting after working as directors; incidentally, he also had maximum number of releases last year. This week, his ‘Guru Sishyan’ and ‘Vaada’ are releasing on the same day next Friday. He also has ‘Murattukkalai’, ‘Nagaram’ and ‘Marupakkam’ lined up for release later this year, which could again make him as the actor with the most number of releases this year too!

Satyharaj, who is known for satirical portrayal of social evils, has once again done that in his upcoming film ‘Guru-Sishyan’, directed by Sakthi Chidambaram. Sundar C, the director-turned-actor, plays a parallel role to Sathyaraj in the film and has the beautiful Sruthi as his heroine.

When the print and television media are going gaga over the alleged sexcapades of a self-styled Godman in Tiruvannamalai with videos featuring him in a ‘sex act’ with a popular Tamil actress being aired, Sathyaraj is also playing a ‘Godman’ in one of the sequences of the film and is doing the same thing.

Sathyaraj plays a bachelor who sets up an ‘ashram’ and indulges in worldly acts of sex, earning foreign currency, etc. Sakthi Chidambaram had actually visualized this character for Sathyaraj long before news about Godman Nithyanandam hit the media and it was just a sheer coincidence that the film is getting ready for a release when the controversy about the Godman is at its peak!

Sundar C avoids clash of his films!

Sathyaraj could get into trouble

The press boycott of Sathyaraj by journalists still continues. The actor is being boycotted by journalists for his reported remarks on the ‘functioning of some journalists’ made at the film industry’s protest meeting when some names of actresses was published by a leading vernacular daily in the wake of the arrest of actress Bhuwaneswari last year.

The journalists, who were awaiting their chance to hit back at the actor, may now get the opportunity when the audio of the actor’s ‘Guru Sishyan’ releases tomorrow. The film, directed by Sathyaraj-favourite Shakti Chidambaram, also stars Sundar C and actress Hemamaalini, who has recently changed her name to Shruti.

In case Sathyaraj takes stage at the film’s audio-launch, the journalist fraternity may express their disapproval by boycotting the actor’s speech. Talks are on between various film artistes’ associations to make their response appear equal and unified.

Sundar C to join hands with Shakti again for 'Gummanguthu'

The director in Sundar C appears to have gone on a ‘long leave’ as the hero in him has taken over to act in films, the scripts most of them appear to be beyond any kind of acceptable logic. Sundar says that he didn’t want to disappoint his fans who flock to theatres to watch his films expecting some fun and non-stop entertainment and assures that he would continue in the same mode.

His upcoming film ‘Guru Sishyan’, directed by Shakti Chidambaram and co-starring Sathyaraj and Sruti, promises to be a laugh riot. He now informs that his next film titled ‘Gummanguthu’ would also be directed by Shakti. The muihurat of the film would be held soon after ‘Guru Sishyan’ releases, informs Sundar C.

Sundar alo plans to direct the film ‘Action King’, which would be produced by Shakti Chidambaram. It appears as if Sundar and Shakti have entered into some sort of ‘agreement’ that Sundar’s films should either be directed or produced by Shakti Chidambaram, come what may!

Shakti and Sunder C combo set to rock

Shakti Chidambaram, whose Sathyaraj-Sundar C-Sruthi starrer ‘Guru Sishyan’ is ready for release this Friday, would deviate from his preferred choices as heroes and would be directing ‘action king’ Arjun in his next film. After the film with Arjun is over, Shakthi would again revert back to Sundar C, directing and producing a film starring him in the lead.
