Thillalangadi ‘track’ record

This is third time for ‘Thillalangadi’, ‘Jayam’ Ravi’s forthcoming film, to occupy a place in the news thanks to its songs. Some time back, the movie’s director Raja claimed that they had shot a 360 degree song on Ravi and Tamannah which would leave audience in awe.

More recently, the media went the whole hog reporting that Silambarasan had crooned for ‘Thillalangadi’, as he is close to Ravi as well as the film’s music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. “The track would be one of the highlights,” said circles close to the unit.

And now, Raja says they have erected eight different sets for a song in ‘Thillalangadi’, a remake of Telugu hit ‘Kick’, and dancers from Russia have come all the way to shake their legs.

“The song sequence featuring Ravi in eight different costumes was shot using state-of-the-art techniques. Choreographer Shobi had worked hard to get things right”, he adds.

“The song was recently filmed at Binny Mills,” Raja says and adds: “a racy entertainer with all commercial elements at right mix is a rarity in Tamil cinema. ‘Thillalangadi’ has everything that would woo the masses”.

Sun Pictures bags the rights of 'Thillalangadi'

Sun Pictures has acquired the distribution rights of ‘Thillalangadi’ starring ‘Jeyam’ Ravi and Tamannaah in the lead and directed by Ravi’s brother ‘Jeyam’ Raja. This would be the fifth film under the combination of the brothers.

‘Thillalangadi’ is the remake of the Telugu hit ‘Kick’ in which Ravi Teja, Ileana and Shaam played lead roles. Incidentally, Shaam is said to be essaying the same role he played n the Telugu version, which is almost equal to that of the hero.

The film started generating interest and positive feedback from the date it was announced and as such, it was expected that it would be acquired by Sun Pictures.

Sun Pictures has already bagged some big movies including Vijay-Tamannaah starrer ‘Suraa’ and Suriya-Anoushka starrer ‘Singam’.

Tamanna sizzles in Thillalangadi

Expected release date in May 2010, Thillalangidi is another awaited movie of Tamanna. Thillalangidi is the remake of the Telugu mega Hit movie 'Kick' starring Telugu superstar Ravi Teja. Action packed comedy, Thillalangidi has Jeyam Ravi and Shaam in the lead with Tamanna. Thillalangidi is directed by M.Raja.

Tamanna is looking ravishing in Thillalangidi and the pictures that are released for circulation from the movies and promo shots are simply outstanding. Thillalangidi looks revealed for Tamanna is not only ravishing but also showcases attitude. Her photo with a combination of purple and yellow outfit for a dance number with hood is simply superb. In fact, Tamanna will be carrying looks that are traditional as well as modern in Thillalngidi. Popularly known as the 'milky beauty' anything looks good on Tamanna.

Thillalangidi has Tamanna in a vital role as she plays the lead and is the crux of a love triangle. The movie moves along the storyline of a good for nothing rich guy, spoilt and supported by his father in all his nonsensical ventures eventually coming to terms with his reality in life and finds some purpose. The movie has some interesting moments and a clear characterization of the lead character as he will only do something just for the sake of doing it as he gets some kind of thrill out of doing what he does.

Thillalangadi' song costs Rs.50 lakhs

Director ‘Jayam’ Raja continues his successful association with his actor brother ‘Jayam’ Ravi for the fifth consecutive time in ‘Thillalangadi’. ‘Thillalangadi’ is a remake of the Telugu film titled ‘Kick’ and pairs the beautiful Tamannaah opposite the talented Ravi.

Raja has spent a sum as huge as Rs.50 lakhs for a particular song in the film. For this song, Raja reportedly brought in a group of female dancers from Russia and had eight different and huge sets erected, all in a span of just five days. To top it all, the song was recorded last week in Simbu’s voice.

Raja, the perfectionist, says that his crew had been working day in and day out for erecting these sets. Some 150,000 lights had also been used in these sets to shoot the song he informs and assures us that whoever gets to watch the song would never forget it in their life time!

Thillalangadi Audio Launch In March

‘Jeyam’ Ravi has no constraints this time over financial arenas. He has been lavishly spending big money over the making of ‘Thillalangadi’. It seems that the cost of complete songs have crossed above-the-line than a total production cost of a medium-budget film.

Now, with the film close on heels of completion, makers have decided to release it on April 14 and audio by mid of March.

Already the preview screening of clippings from ‘Sol Pecchu Ketkaadha Sundariyae’ has raised everyone hopes with mellisonant tunes of the song. Yuvan Shankar Raja has come up with couple of duet songs, a jolly-felt number about memory loss (Jeyam Ravi predicts to be possessed by memory loss to escape from the clutches of his ex-girlfriend Thamannah). A sentimental song with less instrumental and ‘Sol Pecchu’ is shot with lots of technological enhancements.

Thillalangadi songs in Mumbai

Director M Raja shot a song with his brother Jayam Ravi and Tamanna for his forthcoming Thillalangadi in the streets of Mumbai. The song tuned by Yuvan is said to be a peppy number.

The film is a remake of the Telugu Kick and is produced by Editor Mohan, so Raja and Ravi are giving it the extra care.

The film has Prabhu, comedians Vadivelu and Santhanam in supporting roles.

After the song in Mumbai, nearly 80 percent of the shoot is over. Raja and Ravi wants to give a hit to their father, so they are trying to make it with all care.

Thillalangadi is scheduled to release in the first week of May for summer.

Director M Raja has almost completed ‘Thillalangadi’. “I am happy about the output. The film is an energetic entertainer which would keep the audience engaged right from the beginning till end,” he says.

The elder son of producer ‘Editor’ Mohan says, “Jayam Ravi and Tamanna have given their best. Though the film is a remake of Telugu blockbuster ‘Kick’, it would suit well to the taste of Tamil people.”

“Shaam is doing a parallel role, while Vadivelu does a full- length comedy role. We shot non-stop for 30 days in Malaysia. Interestingly our earlier venture ‘M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi’ too was shot in the same place a few years ago. We shot some important scenes in Chennai, and some in Europe.”

Ravi, thrilled at being part of the project, says, “Unlike my last ‘Peranmai’, ‘Thillalangadi’ is a commercial entertainer. It is loaded with comedy and is lively all through. I am happy to work with my brother Raja again, who shaped up my career.”
