Director Bala’s next is ‘Avan Ivan’
It’s final and we’re the first to break it now. Yeah! Bala’s next film featuring Aarya and Vishal in leadroles has been titled as ‘AVAN IVAN’. The film is produced by Kalapathy S Agoram of AGS Entertainment and is churned out at a big cost.
Sarath Kumar’s daughter Varalakshmi has been signed for the female lead. The entire cast and crew of ‘AVAN IVAN’ will be revealing more about the project this evening at a press meet held in Chennai.
Bala has been flying on seventh heaven for his National Awards triumph and is continuously receiving more appreciations from various celebrities of film industry including Sasikumar and his entire team…
Arya on rewind mode
With Madharasapattinam, Chikku Bukku, Boss Engira Baskaran and Avan Ivan in his kitty, Arya is certainly a busy man these days.
And this poster boy of Kollywood is on an all-time high post the extravagant and interesting audio launch of his Madharasapattinam. “Director Vijay said he was going to make the audio launch of his film an unforgettable one, and he sure has!” he smiles.
Talking about the film, Arya says, “The film is set in the Madras of the 40s and takes place in Washermanpet. It’s a story of a dhobi, who also happens to be a wrestling champ. It has brilliantly portrayed how Chennai was when it was Madharasapattinam. I loved the way Vijay narrated the story.
Clichéd as it may sound, no one has ever attempted a movie like this. It’s been a long time since an authentic period film was made. Vijay has also roped in foreign actors to give the British feel, including Amy Jackson, a Miss World Teen, to play my love interest.”
Arya says he had to work hard on his physique for the role. “I wanted to look convincing as a wrestler. I tried my best to imitate how a wrestler would fight, walk, or for that matter, behave in public. I observed matches to get their body language right,” he says.
The Naan Kadavul star is equally upbeat about his other three films. “Boss Engira Baskaran is a complete entertainer. There’s not even an ounce of seriousness in the movie. Director Rajesh has scripted a funny film where comedy is a part of the script,” he says, “Santhanam and I are best friends in the flick. I always get into trouble and he comes to my rescue. How Nayanthara’s character comes into my life and how things take a chaotic, but hilarious turn form the rest of the story.”
Talking about his other films, he says, “I have Chikku Bukku, a romantic film, directed by Manikandan, with Shriya. I’m also excited about working with Vishal in Bala’s Avan Ivan. I’ve known Vishal for a long time and we are good buddies. We even work out at the same gym. We’ve wanted to do a film for long and Avan Ivan happened at the right time. We will start shooting in May.”
Arya’s most recent release is the Telugu film, Varudu, with Allu Arjun, in which he plays an anti-hero. “I’ve been getting good reviews for my role in it,” he smiles. So, was it a conscious effort to break away from the mould and play a negative character? “In a way, yes. Audiences here have always seen me as the hero who gets the girl and I don’t know how they will react to my playing a negative character. But I’m new to Tollywood audiences and I don’t have any restrictions while choosing scripts. So, when I got a chance to make my debut there in a negative role, I didn’t see any reason why I should let go of the offer,” he signs off.
Bala to make complete his movie in six months
Director Bala, who has got national award for ‘best director’ for his film ‘Naan Kadavul’, is all set to start his new project ‘Avan Ivan’ featuring Aarya and Vishal. The movie is billed as a comedy entertainer. The film’s shooting commences on 1st February and is a story of brothers.
Janani Iyer is making her debut as heroine in this film, which would also have action and romance. Varalakshmi Sarathkumar, daughter of Sarath Kumar, was earlier in the reckoning for the role that eventually went to Janani Ayyar.
Bala hopes to complete ‘Avan Ivan’ within the next six months and says that he didn’t approach ‘Maestro’ Ilaiyaraaja to score the music as the film required some ‘remix’ numbers. As such, he has chosen Yuvan Shankar Raaja as the music director. Dialogues are written by S. Ramakrishan while Arthur Wilson would take care of cinematography
Vishals stunning makeover for Avan Ivan
Director Bala is well known for presenting his actors with new-dimensional looks and it has been illustrious with his films with Vikram, Surya and Aarya.
This time, it’s about Vishal, who seems to have gone for a stunning makeover for Bala’s next film ‘Avan Ivan’.
According to the sources, Vishal has almost shaven his head with thick beard, which faintly reminiscences Surya’s looks in ‘Nanda’. The actor has been avoiding invitations for social events so as to keep away from public glare. It seems that director Bala has insisted him not to reveal his looks until the film’s shooting are completed.
Meanwhile, buzz is that Aarya’s non-punctuality has stalled the shooting and Bala has returned to Chennai. Sources from both the ends remain closemouthed pertaining to the sudden halt of filming.
Balas Avan Ivan starts rolling
Although Bala’s previous releases– Pithamagan and Naan Kadavul won more awards in various arenas, these films weren’t really successful at box office.
But this time, he seems to have come up with a script with definite aims of filling producer’s pockets with profit.
Bala’s upcoming film Avan Ivan will be a new-fangled film from filmmaker Bala with realistic panoramas. The film features actors Aarya and Vishal and Janani Iyer stars in lead roles. Earlier, Sarath Kumar’s daughter Varalakshmi was supposed to don the female lead and due to some unavoidable issues, Janani Iyer has replaced her now.
The film is produced by AGS Entertainment and Yuvan Shankar Raja scores music. When asked Bala about not working with maestro Ilayaraja this time, he stated that since its youth-based film, the team felt that Yuvan Shankar Raja would be the right choice.
The film will start rolling shortly and will be completed within 6 months of time
