Boss Engira Bhaskaran (Boss alias Bhaskaran) a romantic comedy movie directed by Rajesh.

Arya, Nayantara and comedian Santhanam in lead roles in Boss Engira Bhaskaran.The pretty lass is being paired opposite Arya for the first time. Santhanam will be providing comic relief for the film, which will be produced by K S Sreenivasan of Naan Kadavul fame. The movie will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.The story is about a guy who is always busy running errands for other people and neglecting his own life and career, till he meets a girl who brings about a change. Incidentally, Arya and Nayanthara will also be doing an off-beat Malayalam film to be directed by noted art house director Shyamaprasad.

Nayantara is with ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’!

Earlier the grapevine was abuzz that Nayantara will be shaking her hips with Dhanush soon. When we enquired about this to the sources close to ‘Mappillai’ team and Dhanush, they just rubbished the news.

Dhanush’s circle seems to deny the news that the actor is not doing an item number with Nayantara. Looks like ‘Mappillai’ team has not approached the actress for any such offer.

On the other hand Nayantara’s close one too rubbishes the news. They claim that Nayantara is so busy with ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ shoot that is happening in Kumbakonam. And she is gonna start the work for anew Telugu film opposite top star Balakrishna.

Director Rajesh M. of Siva Manasula Sakthi fame is currently busy with his next venture Boss Engira Baskaran with Arya and Nayantara. “The movie revolves around Arya, a fun-loving guy, and his relationship with Santhanam and Nayantara. I can vouch that Boss... will be a feel-good entertainer. It will be a film you can watch with your entire family,” the director said to a leading English daily.

“I’m extremely happy with the output. We are currently filming four songs after which we’ll wrap up the project. We are planning to launch the audio in April and release the film in June. Yuvanshankar Raja has scored the music and I think this will be one of his best albums,” he added.

Rajesh who had directed Siva Manasula Sakthi is currently directing the film titled Boss Engira Baskaran which has Nayanthara and Arya in the lead roles.

Rajesh who had completed the shooting in Kumbakonam has returned to Chennai. He spoke to the media on his return.

About becoming a director?

I was working as a software engineer in Mumbai. I was getting heavy salary and enjoying a hi-tech life in Mumbai. But the passion for cinema did not allow me to concentrate on my job. I threw my job which gave Rs 70,000 salary per month and joined as an assistant to director Ameer for Rs 100 per day. After four years I was able to direct my first film. I know that my story will win. But I got my first opportunity after making the people understand this.

Nayan and Aarya get closer for 'Baas Engira Baskaran'

Aarya is pairing up with Nayantara for the first time in ‘Baas Engira Baskaran’ (BEB). The film, directed by M. Rajesh who gave a good account of himself through the Jeeva-starrer ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’, has aroused much curiosity and expectations mainly because of the pairing.

Rajesh is continuing from where he left in ‘SMS’ and is making ‘BEB’ with the same kind of romance, mischief and comedy portions. Nayantara, for a change, has attempted a full-length comic role in this film and has come out with flying colours, if one is to by the talk that prevails among the Unit members and technicians.

In a romantic duet with Aarya, Nayantara has got intimate with the hero and would surely make the men drool over her, says Rajesh. Nayan has always been seen to reserve her ‘sexy best’ only in other language films like Telugu and Kannada and putting up a ‘decent’ image in Tamil films, except for a brief ‘exposing’ song in Vishal’s ‘Sathyam’.

Nayan has reportedly shed some of her inhibitions (and clothing, too) in the song sequences, says unit sources not wanting to be named.

‘Boss….’ : Promises aplenty

After directing the commercially successful ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’, director Rajesh M is now busy with his next venture ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’.

Starring Arya and Nayantara in the lead roles, the movie is nearing completion. A happy Rajesh says, “It has so far come good. I am extremely happy with the output. The talkie portions are completed”.

Arya, who played a powerful role in ‘Naan Kadavul’ does a cool casanova in the movie. It is a full-length comedy role for him, informs the director. Nayantara was very co-operative and in spite of her busy schedule, she managed to complete the shooting on time, he says.

The cast includes Santhanam, Panju Subbu, ‘Naan Kadavul’ Rajendran, Vijayalakshmi and Lakshmi Ramakrishnan. Produced by K S Sivaraman and K S Srinivasan, the movie has musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Rajesh adds: “Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music and I think it's one of his best compositions. The movie revolves around Arya, a fun-loving person, and his relationship with Santhanam and Nayantara. I can vouch that Boss... will be a feel-good entertainer. It will be a film you can watch with your entire family”.

‘Boss’ gets ready

“Shooting of ‘Boss Engiran Baskaran’ is over but for some song sequences. We will complete it in the coming weeks to enable the producers to launch the music by April and release the film by June,” says director M Rajesh.

Happy about working with Arya and Nayantara, Rajesh, who made a mark for himself with his maiden venture ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’ said, “Both are thorough professionals. I enjoy working with them.”

On the way the film has been shaped up, he says, “it has come out well. ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ is going to be a thorough entertainer for the whole family. It’s a feel good film which could be watched by one and all.”

Saying that Santhanam’s comedy is going to be one of the highlights of the film, Rajesh adds: “Santhanam was one of the plus points of even ‘Siva Manasula Sakthi’. His spontaneity and timing sense are amazing. He will reach further heights with our film.”
